CSU RESEARCHER SEEKS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT FAT TISSUE DISORDER, LIPEDEMA

There is a growing awareness of a disease called lipedema, which causes fat to be distributed toward the lower body (legs and hips) under the skin.


Michelle Foster, an associate professor and researcher for Colorado State University’s Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, recently received a grant from the Lipedema Foundation to investigate this poorly understood disease.

A CSU faculty member is leading an interdisciplinary research team that will study the effects of blueberries on cardiovascular health in postmenopausal women with elevated blood pressure.

The camps, which originally started in 1970, are health and fitness-oriented programs aimed at youngsters to promote healthy and active lifestyles within the community.
